In order to better inform and educate the alumni on the current conditions at play with our chapter, we have created a set of webpages which serve as a repository of background information related to fraternity life today. The University, the city, and the Greek community in general have changed since our undergraduate days, and in order to return Alpha-Tau to the campus in the future it is important to understand the challenges and opportunities we face.

Information is grouped into several pages based on the primary stake-holder — the city, the national fraternity, and the University. In addition we have linked to a number of stories which describe Greek Life at the University of Michigan; news articles are arranged in reverse chronological order by publication date.

Table of Contents:

  • Alpha-Tau in the News - This contains all articles that specifically mention Chi Phi's University of Michigan chapter, in most cases the article is about / quotes a member of the fraternity.

  • City of Ann Arbor - Contains links to city website, relevant departments and policies/ordinances. Special focus is given to the Washtenaw/Hill Historic District and recent changes to Zoning Ordinance.

  • The University of Michigan - Contains links to relevant University departments / groups and policies.

  • Chi Phi Fraternity - Contains links to the Chi Phi National fraternity, and the policies and procedures that Chi Phi chapters need to operate under. There is also a list of news articles culled from the web which related to Chi Phi chapters on other campuses dealing with alcohol or hazing issues.

  • News articles related to UofM Greek Life - This page contains links to a variety of Greek Life-related stories from a variety of media (primarily MLive and the Michigan Daily). Articles are grouped by several topics, and are sorted in reverse chronological order by publication date.
