Share your Chi Phi Memories with Us!

During a recent visit to the chapter house, I asked an undergrad to meet me on the second floor in front of the Omi chart.  The undergrad had this blank look in his face and had no idea where to go.   I was a bit shocked by this and naturally figured he knew what I was talking about.  Whether it’s the Omi chart, Crazyhorse bottle, tube room, tacky triple, cold dorm or the cave, we all have individual stories, items, and places that we uniquely associate with our time living in the house or being a member of the fraternity.  Each new generation of brothers will have their own unique experiences and memories living in the house.  However, I think it’s important that future members of the house have some idea of what it was like live in the house in the past.

Over the next 18 months, we will be making an ambitious effort to collect individual accounts of what it was like to be a member of the fraternity. Whether it is explaining what it was like to sleep barrack style in the 1940s, what dinner time was like in the 1960s, or a memorable road trip to Madison in the 1990’s, we want to preserve those memories of chapter life.  The stories will be compiled in book form and available to all of our alumni.  Submissions can be sent to me at jbstoops@yahoo.com, or I can provide my mailing address if you call me at 734-513-9115.

Or click here to share your stories and experiences from your time in Chi Phi on our message boards.

I encourage all of you to participate so that our Alpha-Tau memories are substantial and encompass all of our past generations.

Fraternally, Jason Stoops
